After website update, reach decreased
Following the update, there is a noticeable drop in traffic — people are no longer reaching the page the way they used to, and the decline continues.
PLATFORM LIMITATIONS
The website was created without utilizing content grouping or reusable components. This made it difficult to implement structural changes.
Adding new information meant manually shifting entire sections, which was time-consuming and increased the risk of layout issues.
POOR SEO COMPATIBILITY
The updated website was built as a onepager, which significantly limited its SEO potential. Search engines had fewer entry points to index, and important keywords couldn’t be effectively distributed across multiple pages.
As a result, organic visibility decreased, making it harder for potential clients to find the site through search engines.
Solution
To solve the issues caused by the limited one-page setup, I rebuilt the website using WordPress and Elementor. The new structure included separate pages for each menu category, improving both user experience and SEO. I also ensured that the site no longer redirected to the old Wix version. The result was a flexible, scalable website that was easier to manage and optimize for search engines.
My role
I rebuilt the existing website in WordPress using Elementor, transferring all content from the previous Wix version. During the process, I fixed structural issues that had made updates difficult and corrected outdated or poorly functioning elements. I ensured the new site was mobile-friendly and responsive. Finally, I handled the technical setup to make the new website live and fully functional.
